    Practices are ad hoc and are on a best endeavour basis.
2Basic
  • Practice
    Capture some appropriate measures. (e.g. cost to implement IT solution, effort spent in requirements, design, implementation, testing and delivery, number of features delivered, number & severity of test defects, % deliverables reviewed, etc.) in order to review if there is a need for adaption of the process(es).
    Outcomes
    • Provides basis for measurement and analysis activities to support management decisions.
    • At a minimum these measures will provide insight into the ability of the processes to achieve specific objectives such as cost, schedule and quality.

3Intermediate
  • Practice
    Adapt the selected Solutions Delivery lifecycle, processes and associated deliverables in accordance with approved criteria (e.g. technology risk, project scale, clarity of requirements, new customer, product or business line etc.) as necessary to respond to business needs.
    Outcome
    The standard processes are adapted to meet a specific project's needs to ensure maximum business value is achieved i.e. processes are not executed unless they are necessary and are changed to ensure achievement of specific objectives.

4Advanced
  • Practice
    Continually evaluate and adapt new and emerging software delivery methods for use in the Solutions Delivery lifecycle.

    Supports improving process performance and capability.
