    Over time, reviewers will award performance ratings in line with a common standard.

    Standard deviation of performance ratings.

  • Practice
    As part of the performance target-setting process, illustrate the linkages between subordinate goals and IT and business strategies.
    Outcome
    Goals not linked to business strategy are eliminated from the performance management process.

    • % of individuals from within IT for whom linkage maps are developed as part of the performance management process.
    • % of individuals from the business for whom linkage maps are developed as part of the performance management process.

  • Practice
    Synthesize lessons learned from multiple sources (e.g. project retrospectives, business ecosystem feedback, and ongoing research) to identify areas for improvement in the performance management process.
    Outcome
    This results in continuous improvement to the performance management process.
    Metrics
    • # of discrete action points emerging from the synthetization exercise.
    • Perceived quality of the performance management process (management rating over staff rating where 1 is optimal) (i.e. as measured via standard qualitative measurement tools).
